Featuring PH Destinations Monthly

January 2018

To help promote a certain destination here in the Philippines, I'll be updating our Facebook Page' cover photo every month. This initiative will feature some of my favorite places, food, people, events or anything that will get your attention and to eventually book a flight to that province.

Ilocos Norte, Philippines

This January, Noel On The Road features Ilocos Norte.

My wanderlust started few years ago and I owe it all to my hometown, Ilocos Norte.

Ilocos Norte is located in the Ilocos Region in Luzon. Laoag City, the province' capital, is located at the northwest corner of Luzon Island, bordering Cagayan and Apayao to the east, and Abra and Ilocos Sur to the south. Ilocos Norte faces the South China Sea to the west and the Luzon Strait to the north.

Ilocos Norte is noted as the birthplace of former President Ferdinand E. Marcos, who led an authoritarian rule over the country during the latter half of his incumbency. The province has a total land area of 3,400 square kilometers. It is composed of 22 municipalities with 477 barangays.

Now, Ilocos Norte is being dubbed as the 'Gateway of the North' which houses popular destinations like The Fort Ilocandia, an upper class beach resort famous among expatriates, and beautiful Pagudpud.

So, when will you visit Ilocos Norte? Tag your friends and plan ahead.

Happy travels!☺
